Shaving Your Face
- First, prepare your skin & lather the cream. To create the ideal shaving lather, we recommend:
- Proraso Shaving Cream;
- an aluminum shaving bowl; and,
- A badger haired brush
- Next, submerge the razor into some hot water.
- Then, correctly position the razor. You want to place it on your jawline below your sideburns. Hold the razor’s head against your skin and turn it until it’s at about a 30° angle.
- Now, Make Your First Pass. Always shave in short, gentle strokes and with the grain in your first pass. Let the weight of the razor do the work and don’t apply any extra pressure.
- Once you’ve shaved your entire face, it’s time to Shave A Second Pass. Lather up once more before your second pass.
- Finally, it’s time for Post Shave Skin Care. Rise with cold water and apply a post-shave balm or moisturizer to replenish the skin’s natural oils.
Maintaining Your Razor
Always do the following after every shave:
- Rinse away any stray hairs and soap.
- Make sure that you get it in all the hard-to-reach areas within the mechanism.
- If necessary, open it up to wash away everything. Pro tip: You can take this further by leaving it to soak in alcohol, or barbicide if you prefer.
- Leave it to fully air dry somewhere that is relatively low in humidity.
